You Should Know This

Do you know what UN Agenda 21 is? Don’t worry, most don’t but it may just be one of the greatest threats to our freedom. The agenda calls for sustainable development in local communities and uses the words ‘smart growth’ a lot! Smart growth, according to Richard Tothschild is “not science, it is political dogma combined with an insidious does of social engineering. Smart growth is a wedding wherein zoning code is married with government sponsored housing initiatives to accomplish government’s goal of social re-engineering. It urbanizes rural towns with high density development, and gerrymanders population centers through the use of housing initiatives that enable people with weak patters of personal financial responsibility to acquire homes in higher income areas. This has the effect of shifting the voting patterns of rural municipalities from Right to Left.”

Scott Strzelczyk and Richard Rothschild wrote in the American Thinker that Smart growth plans usurp property rights and constitutional rights. Local officials, at the behest of State Government, revise zoning laws to fit into a "smart code" zoning template. A massive reshuffling of property rights ensues. Farmers may lose subdivision rights; conservation land adjacent to population centers may be rezoned into commercial employment centers; and low-density land in small towns is re-designated as growth area and rezoned to accommodate diverse housing including high-density apartments and condominiums.

Finally, a healthy dose of federal- or state-sponsored housing initiatives is embraced to ensure communities are properly balanced. The net effect of these plans is to create highly urbanized population centers throughout otherwise-rural counties, while simultaneously limiting the availability of land for suburban and estate subdivisions, as these are considered an unsustainable waste of land by Agenda 21 disciples.

Clearly, smart growth plans will impact Americans' future choices in where and how they live. Furthermore, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other federal and state agencies may attempt to deny grant funds to states and cities that do not adopt smart growth plans.

Regardless of political orientation, two indisputable facts remain. Agenda 21 is a direct assault on private property rights and American sovereignty, and it is coming to a neighborhood near you. Want to know where? Here’s the list:

2011 and 1984

Did you ever read the book 1984 by George Orwell? I recommend picking it up even if you’ve read it before. The plot of the book surrounds a one Winston Smith who is a low ranking member of the ruling Party in London, in the nation of Oceania. Everywhere Winston goes, even his own home, the Party watches him through telescreens; everywhere he looks he sees the face of the Party’s seemingly omniscient leader, a figure known only as Big Brother. The Party controls everything in Oceania, even the people’s history and language. Currently, the Party is forcing the implementation of an invented language called Newspeak, which attempts to prevent political rebellion by eliminating all words related to it. 

The sad truth about this book is how it’s being played out today. We’ve been witness to an erosion of our freedoms, corruption of language and the control of history. From our schools to our work environments we’ve seen ‘Big Brother’ push his way in. We have phone taps, we have warrantless entry in homes, we have websites shut down, we have our facebook posts monitored, we have the Department of Homeland Security at WalMart (coming to mall, retail outlets and perhaps hotels across the US) spouting a video message – look out for suspicious activity and report it, we have ‘words’ either spoken or written that will get our names on a watch list thus prompting a ‘file’ on the seemingly law abiding citizen. We have words that have been mandated as unacceptable ie: illegal alien now undocumented worker.  As for history just pick up a textbook from one of your children. Learn how America’s true history has been perverted. Today we learn that a Justice has deemed Congress can regulate our mental activity under the Commerce Clause. This is Big Brother hard at work.

Orwell wrote that ‘indifference to objective truth is encouraged by the sealing off of one part of the world from another, which makes it harder and harder to discover what is actually happening. Net Neutrality and the kill switch pop into my mind.

The media also plays a big role in Orwell’s book. Their aim is to incite hatred and to divert attention from the real domestic problems the nation faces. Sound familiar?

1984 leaves us with no hope – no way out – but there is a way out. The best way to combat Big Brother is to ask questions and challenge their claims. We must be the propaganda watchdogs. We must challenge anything presented as fact from either side.  We need to support groups that actively oppose intrusive government measures that restrict or seek to restrict our basic freedoms – including freedom of speech. We must not give in to pressure; we must think for ourselves and speak out. 

The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

Our country is under attack from within.

The Danger within America

David Kupelian from WorldNetDaily reports this morning that after a 14-year-old Bangladeshi girl named Hena Begum was forcibly raped, kicking and screaming, by a 40-year-old married man on Sunday, Jan. 30, a Shariah court the next day sentenced her - the rape victim - to receive 100 lashes for having engaged in an illicit "affair." Henna was given no chance to appeal, and the sentence was carried out immediately. After between 70 and 80 lashes the little girl collapsed into unconsciousness and was taken to the hospital - where she bled to death. We all know the horror stories of Shariah – they are countless.

Today it’s being reported that the University of Central Florida is having an Islam Awareness month sponsored by the Muslim Student Association. A guest speaker is planned – Siraj Wahhaj. This man was named as an unindicted coconspirator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings. This man continues to call for America to be overthrown and an Islamic caliphate put in place.

We already know that Anjem Choudary is planning on being at the White House on March 3 to spread his message of Sharia Law. He believes Americans are the ‘biggest criminals in the world today.’

Sharia law is a system that governs every aspect of the life of a Muslim – INCLUDING fulfillment of jihad against non-believers whether through da’wa, persuasion and even violence. It is a political, legal, social and military system that is THREATENING our most basic constitutional liberties and freedoms.

The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna in Egypt after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Their mission is simple: Oppose secular tendencies of Islamic nations and return to the precepts of the Qur’an. Reject any western influences. Their motto: Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.  Know who this group targets for members/followers? Our students - at every university that can get into.

Andrew McCarthy wrote “Banna was a practical revolutionary. On the one hand, he instructed his votaries to prepare for violence. They had to understand that, in the end — when the time was right, when the Brotherhood was finally strong enough that violent attacks would more likely achieve Ikhwan objectives than provoke crippling blowback — violence would surely be necessary to complete the revolution (meaning, to institute sharia, Islam’s legal-political framework). Meanwhile, on the other hand, he taught that the Brothers should take whatever they could get from the regime, the political system, the legal system, and the culture. He shrewdly realized that, if the Brothers did not overplay their hand, if they duped the media, the intelligentsia, and the public into seeing them as fighters for social justice, these institutions would be apt to make substantial concessions. Appeasement, he knew, is often a society’s first response to a threat it does not wish to believe is existential.”

The objective is simple – both the Brotherhood and Sharia Law followers want to conquer America. The White House knows this yet they are too busy pretending, well….you know.

Did you know that the Republicans are proposing reckless budget cuts and anti-worker legislation? Did you further know that their proposed cuts will eliminate 1 Million jobs and services that help low income families? Are you fed up with Republicans slashing budgets at the expense of the middle class instead of demanding that Wall Street, Big Oil and millionaires pay their fair share? We can't afford these job-killing, economy-ruining Republican plans. Building on the momentum in Wisconsin, we'll urge Democrats to fight against any budget that would cut teachers, nurses, and firefighters or slash programs helping pregnant women feed their babies and families and seniors with their heating bills. And we'll force Republicans to say publicly why they support a jobs-killing budget. 

Ok, no I didn’t fall on my head - the above rhetoric is what MoveOn.org sent out to their 3.3 million members yesterday and want us to organize a protest (well, not us really) in front of Rep. Lowey’s office in White Plains this Thursday at 12 noon. This my friends is a prime example of the lefts exaggerated lies seeking a mob outcry. The 1 million jobs line includes the 200,000 NEW FEDERAL jobs that Obama put in place and perhaps, according to the WP another 650000 government jobs (unions) and a potential 325000 indirect losses of jobs as fewer government workers travel and buy things so says the article. Now let’s try and set the record straight shall we?

On Friday 92 Republicans joined the Democrats to say no to their original pledge of $100 billion in cuts. We know this. In Wisconsin and elsewhere we see union bosses fighting to maintain control over more than just wages and benefits. SEIU is on a roll with pop up nationwide rallies in protest of Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio. Obama is standing with the unions. Make no mistake about what is really going on here – the unions are losing power and the left is falling.

Chuck Norris wrote this morning that Do you think it’s just a coincidence that the two largest teachers unions, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, are the largest campaign contributors in the nation -- $55 million in just the past two years, more than the Teamsters, the National Rifle Association or any other organization -- and that 90 percent of those contributions fund only Democratic candidates? As I began to point out last week, the U.S. public education system is flailing now more than ever, and teachers unions are aiding and abetting its demise. Some teachers unions may indeed be fighting for some of our teachers, but they are failing our students by protecting adults at the expense of the reformation of a crippled and dying system. Teachers unions are crippling the education of our children. --Tenure and its guaranteed jobs are perpetuating educational dysfunction. --Existing bureaucracies in education, from the U.S. Department of Education to state school boards, are doing more harm than good. --Many public schools have become "dropout factories" (schools with high dropout rates). --Many public school districts are engaged in "lemon dances" (sending their worst teachers to other schools and then in turn accepting failing teachers themselves). --Many public school districts have "rubber rooms," places where teachers placed on disciplinary leave are waiting for hearings that could take three to four years to be heard. These teachers waste their time playing cards and other games while getting paid full salaries and benefits -- to the wasted sum of $100 million a year of taxpayer money. Think about this: If a teacher knows he can?t be fired, why should he work or care? What other profession, besides college professor, has that kind of contractual agreement? None.

The unions and their buddy Soro’s MoveOn.org know that the skyrocketing costs of government employee pension plans are the root cause but they don’t care they are using Alinsky tactics to fight for their survival as they know it. They don’t want to pay their fair share, they want us to pay it for them. Unemployment is high yet the number of government jobs rose. Think this is sustainable anywhere? Prepare for more lies, more outcry, and more mobs. Many are talking about a counter protest this morning – maybe we should. Of course our protest will look a bit different. Our signs will tell the Republicans to MAN UP and do what you were sent there to do. If you’re not aware Boehner has apparently lost the stomach for the fight. It’s going to come down to us demanding that every single Republican does what they are being paid to do. The unions, the lobbyists, the liberals, and the Democrats need a wakeup call –

AMERICA IS SINKING – it’s time to swim or be swallowed up.

AMERICA must be preserved and to do that we must CUT.

AMERICAN’s do NOT owe anything to the unions.

Someone wrote this morning that what we’re witnessing is a rearranging of deck chairs on the Titanic. That pretty much sums it up. We are either in this to keep America alive and strong or we’re not. I’ll be in White Plains on Thursday at noon. I’m in it to win it. Will you join me?

Today marks George Washington’s birth date. 279 years ago today we we’re blessed with a boy who would grow to be a Great President. A true leader, one who believed in freedom and dying for it. I pause to wonder just what he would think of this country today. I can’t image he’d be too happy with what we’ve let happen to it.

Just looking at the numbers: our economy, spending, debt, weakened defense, foreign policy – I’d bet he’d be absolutely disgusted. Some of you may say ‘so what’ – he’s dead. But to say that, then our hope of returning our country back towards liberty and prosperity are dead too. Long ago this man led in a careful and deliberate manner. He was keenly aware of his responsibility to our nation.

I look to the WH today and see no such manner of leadership – do you? Sadly today we find a man who sides with the unions, supports Keynesian economics, and appears to be confused as to whether he’s a Christian or a Muslim. There is a revolution going on in our country, similar only to what GW witnessed – a battle of ideas. The left and Obama want us all to buy into the ‘moral equivalency in all cultures’ mantra. But we’re not equivalent. Some work harder than others, some are go getters, some create. Others work less, are satisfied with doing only what’s required, some just take. Then we have others hell bent on claiming America for themselves.

Point in case the man Hannity refers to as a ‘sick, miserable, evil S.O.B. Anjem Choudary – is calling for a March 3 rally in WASHINGTON outside the WH – OUR house – to garner support to call for the Sharia, to call for the Muslims to ‘rise up and establish the Islamic state in America’. This is the same man who said last year on ABC that “one day the flag of Islam will fly over the White House.”

GW would not recognize his country today b/c we’ve allowed it to slip. It’s now a place where Mexico is allowed to sue Arizona; where mob mentality is played out by the unions-going to people’s homes to intimidate; where we have terrorist camps – within our borders plotting and scheming our demise; where the Constitution is shredded and ignored on a daily basis; where we have a president who takes sides with the unions, who bows to kings and apologizes to other countries for our perceived arrogance; and where a radical group can put out a call against America/Americans and rally on our soil at our house.

Rep. Allen West said he’s appalled at the Democrat’s ignorance, belligerence, and dishonest rhetoric filled with empty emotional platitudes.” He asked “Have they no honor in realizing that their fiscal irresponsibility over the past four years has resulted in our standing on the precipice of a fiscal canyon from which we may not recover. Also troubling are the events in the state of Wisconsin which mirror those that happened in Greece several months ago. We are witnessing the abject hostility of a unionized entitlement class that is being lauded by the liberal left, seemingly to include our President. It is such a critical time for our Republic, yet there seems no visionary leadership — it is as if America stopped producing adults.” 

Sadly, I believe GW would agree and perhaps even shed a tear.

Every now and then we need to take stock of things; We need to do some soul searching; We need to stare reality in its face. Guess what – today’s one of those days. Now calm down we’re not taking stock of ‘our lives’ we’re going to take stock of America and its slipping status of exceptional. That’s right I said slipping.

To do that we’re going to look at a few different categories – Education, Health, Transportation and my personal favorite party politics.

Education: The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development recently published the results of achievement tests given to 15-year-olds in 65 countries of the world. Our kids came in 25th in math, 17th in science, and 14th in reading (NO, I cannot even begin to explain that one). If that’s not sickening enough we’ve slipped into 12^th place for our percentage of college graduates. Are we raising dumb kids? Did we take drugs while pregnant? Did we drop them on their heads when they were young? Maybe the answer for some is yes, but I think the problem goes deeper – much deeper. Personally, I blame the unions and here’s why: "When school children start paying union dues, that’s when I’ll start representing the interests of school children" that’s a direct quote from the former American Federation of Teachers President Al Shanker. I believe there are still those that become teachers to actually teach but once the union gets hold of them it’s all about the money and vacations – summers off don’t you know, 1 prep period each day, and teach only 4 or 5 periods per 9 period day, and of course money – lots of it regardless if you’re a good teacher or not. Thank you unions! Wow we should be so proud how they’ve dummied down our kids all for a buck.

Did you know that in Wisconsin the graduation rate is 46%! Yet these teachers believe they should not pay one half of their pension costs and 12.6% of their health benefits. They actually have the gall to believe they deserve a reward for a job well done. Talk about denial! Personally I’d fire all of them or give them nothing – make them pay 100% of everything until the graduation numbers improved dramatically! I think money is important too but believe it must be earned!

Health: FDA, Insurance companies and what I refer to as the Ambulance chasing Lawyers. Ahh the FDA who appears to be more concerned with certain pharmaceutical companies making money than the actual health of Americans. Need proof – check out all the herbs they’ve banned. Then we have the insurance companies – now don’t get me wrong – I despise ObamaCare and actually like my Insurance carrier but we do need some type of reform for two reasons: first ever try going to a homeopathic doctor – you now the nuts that believe vitamins and herbs and minerals will cure you – and the insurance company says NOPE, not on our dime. Who cares if they have proof that they heal cancer. Don’t you know there’s no big money in something that grows on trees or is found in the dirt? Secondly – they’ll be happy to pay for your abortion or your pregnancy but not your birth control (I refer to this as no common sense found here). As to lawyers as long as there’s a slimy lawyer to take a bogus law suit the price we pay for healthcare in the US will continue to escalate. It’s All about the money and were being held hostage for it.  

Transportation’s next. Airline travel - expensive; Automobile travel – expensive (think gas, tolls), Train travel – expensive; Why? Because we have to pay the union workers inflated salary and pension’s silly. Plus we have to pay for the mandatory breaks and hour lunch breaks. The song Money, money, money is playing in my head.

Party Politics is perhaps the biggest contributor to America’s fall from grace. Grown men and women promising one thing then doing the complete opposite b/c a union backed lobbyist came through their door with pockets full of cash. You know what they say Money Talks BS walks.

1 Timothy 9 states: Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 states: For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.

So there you have it – we’ve sold out America so the unions and a select few could make some extra bucks. Perhaps they’re all not evil but they are all wrong in taking everyone else hostage so they can line their pockets. Until we right these wrongs I guess we’ll continue to watch America’s slow and continual fall from exceptionalism.

There is hope though – some of the newly elected are taking the unions to task and saying money goes to those who deserve it – it must be earned! Found in Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Indiana, Arizona, Idaho and Tennessee. The time has come for us as a nation to push back against the unions and their greed. This will be the mother of all fights across the country b/c it’s about money and not money for government employees – money for government unions.

Look at it this way - We’ve taken an incorrect detour for a while letting others drive while we slept. We just hit a huge pothole and now we’re awake. As we slip into the driver’s seat we see the road called exceptional up ahead. But there’s lots of potholes and debris in the road. It looks risky and unpredictable some might even say dangerous. The question is – do we have the guts to drive through it and get to where we need to be or do we stay on the detour knowing full well we will never return to where we need to be. To answer that question we must answer another first – who exactly rules this country We the People or the unions?

Bullying is historically a topic of concern for school children. We have countless laws on the books to thwart disruptive/violent behavior towards another; schools have student codes of conduct; State laws encourage bullying prevention programs in our schools. We have workplace bullying laws, internet bullying laws, federal bullying laws- basically countless hours have been spent on the topic of bullying.

I decided to look up three words

Bully: ‘lacks empathy for others. Has low degree of anxiety about consequences’.

Bullying:  It is characterized as behaving in a manner to gain power over another person. And it is a form of abuse.

Corporate bullying: ‘May occur when an organization struggles to adapt to changing markets, reduced income, cuts in budgets, imposed expectations, and other external pressures.’

Goal of a bully: put you in your place. To make you feel inadequate, to pressure you to do what they want you to do.

Wisconsin has its share of bullies - They are the Teachers of Wisconsin’s children, they are part of a union. The union, once a great asset to America, has become a greedy self absorbed bullying machine. Incapable of adapting to current economic pressures, they want what they want and intimidation, riot, chaos aka bullying, is their means of getting it. One would think a teacher that professes tolerance and non bullying practices daily would lead by example and make haste not to be a bully, but one would be wrong. Great example of ‘do what I say not what I do’.

Teamster president Jim Hoffa said the protests were ‘”inspiring. Government workers didn’t cause Wisconsin’s budget problems and they don’t deserve to be punished for them. Governor Walker’s proposal is a vindictive attack on people he views as his political enemies”. I believe this is a great example of denial.

Wisconsin isn’t the only state struggling to resist union bullies either.

Nearly 4,000 government union workers crowded the Ohio Statehouse this week protesting a bill by Republican state senator Shannon Jones that would eliminate some collective bargaining rights for public union employees in the state. In Michigan, the budget proposed by Republican Gov. Rick Snyder requires that state employee costs be reduced by $180 million.  In Indiana, over 600 United Steelworkers members protested Tuesday, opposing legislation that would make Indiana a right-to-work state and a different bill that would reduce unemployment benefits.

America is being held hostage by bullies. 

The last time I checked we don't negotiate with bullies - check the laws if you don't believe me. We have a choice today we can either stand up and say No More to the unions, their game, and Obama’s community organizing bs. If not – I fear we will reap what we sow and it won’t be good. 

No matter what age you are you’ve heard of Billy Ray Cyrus, Hannah Montana or both.  GQ has an upcoming interview with Billy Ray who has apparently seen the light and the major mistakes he made as a dad. MaryBeth Hicks reports that Billy Ray admits that he was a poor disciplinarian and worst of all that he sought to be his daughter’s friend, rather than a strong father. Billy Ray admits in the GQ interview that he had lost control of his daughter and lost the essence of his family. Strong family leaders know when to fold the tent and circle the wagons. In their case, it might have meant walking away from Disney and all the glamour and financial success that was actually tearing them apart. In our lives, that might mean saying no to things that overload our schedules or create stress in our relationships.  Billy Ray learned the hard way that kids don't need friendship from their parents, they need strong mothers and fathers who guard and protect them and who make wise choices on behalf of their families. Anyone can be a buddy to our kids, but playing the role of mom and dad is something only we can do.

This story made me recall an event at the Mall recently. Shopping with my daughter we witnessed a 15 or so aged girl speaking to her mother. The child was screaming, loudly, that she wanted ‘this cell phone’ not that one. Her mother obviously sticker price shocked, was trying to get her little angel to be reasonable. The kid would have no part of it. In the end the kid won out. I looked at my own daughter and went to say ‘if that was you…’ she said, ‘mom, I would never’. But never is a tricky word.

I’m guilty of being my children’s friend at times instead of being the parent. I know it, I own it. But funny thing – it’s always come back to bite me you know where. We can’t change the rules, we must obey the rules. We are the adults, we are the parents, we DO know better. Kids are resilient they’ll get over us saying NO. Okay maybe it will take a day or two and a lot of slammed doors but so what. In the end we’ll have taught them something and isn’t that our job? We can’t have it both ways. We can’t demand responsible, moral, good kids when we don’t deliver on the steps to get them to that point.

The same can be said about our Government. We want them to say NO to more spending, raising a debt ceiling, more taxes etc. We need to be the parents in this argument. If we cave in, then we have no business demanding a responsible government because we will, in essence, have become the enabler for their bad behavior too.  

Moral of the story: NO must mean NO in all aspects of our life or we’ll deserve exactly what we get…an out of control government and rotten ‘give me’ children…which will result in the ultimate nanny state.  Join me in saying NO. It’s hard yet worthwhile and it does get easier with time. I promise.

Oh I long for simpler times. I guess I didn’t realize how much so until yesterday. The iPhone on Monday released their latest free application. You input your location and poof you get 5 nearby places to go and pick up a free condom. Also on Monday, the group Freedom to Marry launched their $10 Million dollar campaign to support and make legal gay marriage in NYS.

Why is it we’re hell bent on changing everything that was once deemed good? Why must we give our kids free condoms in school? Why have we let morals go to the wayside? Why have we let the government and lobbyists dictate to us what is normal and acceptable? And more importantly what the heck do we do to stop this-can it even be stopped?

There are no blurry lines here there is an agenda at work to bring our nation to ruin - To take it from something that God once blessed to something he will despise. I’m convinced of it.

Did you just squirm? I hope you did because this is a very uncomfortable conversation but one that must be had.

I remember growing up and never hearing my parents curse – nope not once. The TV programs we watched as a family didn’t have cursing period! Me, I have the mouth of a sailor (although I am working on this issue) and I rarely see anything on TV anymore that doesn’t have a hell, damn or sh*t verbalized. Sex talk? Stop it – didn’t happen – if anything it was ‘don’t do it until you’re married’. Me to my children ‘sex is a responsibility like driving a car. You must not abuse it, you must respect it’. To my sons I told them ‘remember the girl you’re with is someone’s sister’; to my daughters ‘once you give it away you can’t get it back’.

The notion of free love, love the one you’re with, punished with a baby, it’s okay to have sex, it’s okay to experiment sexually, isn’t really the message we should be sending to anyone if we want to raise a responsible and moral generation. Obviously many don’t want a responsible and moral generation. Yes, a condom is responsible pregnancy wise but what about protecting the mind and soul? Do these two not count any longer?

Statistics show that marriage is down. Some remained shocked with this fact. I’m not. Why buy the cow when the milk is free coupled with ease of divorce what’s the point? Interestingly enough the very first institution God created was family. Family is where it all starts – it’s what cultures are based on. A healthy marriage, parents who were loving and concerned for the well being of their children, used to be the mainstay of America. Do you see that reflected on TV anymore?

We need to be advocates for our children. The culture they are growing up in is not helping our cause. Try watching TV with your children-every other commercial is for a condom or a sex enhancer, or a new show with gay friendly actors sending an emotional message to them that this is ok and admirable or the music they listen to – I’m not talking the loudness of it, I’m talking the content of it.  Been shopping for clothes for teenage girls lately? Whatever happened to if ‘Victoria can keep her secret so can you!’? Do we no longer want to raise good, decent, moral kids? I don’t believe that to be true. So what do we do?

We need to get our priorities right as a nation. The family is most critical and valuable to each one of us. We only get one opportunity to do this right. Instead of focusing on what the lobbyists are telling us is acceptable we need to be pushing back highlighting the traditional family and values. 1 Corinthians 6:18 states ‘Flee from sexual immorality’.

While the left is spinning their agenda the fact remains that 50% of the people who currently have HIV are between the ages of 15 and 24. Using a condom only reduces the risk of contracting HIV by 85%. And condoms DO NOT significantly reduce the risk of contracting other sexually transmitted diseases.

We can do much better as a nation. We must do better as a nation or we will fall.

After listening to our president’s ‘plan’ and re-reading the latest ‘plan’ from the Republicans, I began thinking (dangerous I know). There seems to be a huge communication breakdown between We the People and Washington. Unable to put my finger on why, I’ve decided to look into the costs of billboards across this great country of ours. Here’s my plan – everywhere financially possible (as close to the roads driven by ‘those that represent’) will sit a bigger than life billboard in the shape of the United States with this message in neon stating:

WE the People of the United States of America

DO NOT WANT A SPENDING FREEZE AT UNSUSTAINABLE LEVELS;

DO NOT WANT TAX INCREASES;

DO NOT WANT FUZZY MATH;

WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT FAVORS TO YOUR UNION FRIENDS;

WE’RE DONE WITH YOUR WASTEFUL SPENDING OF OUR MONEY!

WE’RE ONTO YOUR GAME YOU R’s and D’s AND WE’RE CALLING YOU OUT.

YOUR JOB IS TO REPRESENT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

GET WITH THE PROGRAM OR START LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB - PRONTO.

Think it’s too subtle?

The Tax Cap is one of the most debated topics as of late here in NYS. Some believe it’s the devil incarnate others believe it’s a necessary good start. Let’s dissect both sides to the controversial tax cap keeping in mind the following facts:

NYS’s local taxes are the highest in America – 79% above the national average; school property taxes comprise, on average, 63 percent of homeowners' property taxes; Property tax levies are rising at more than twice the rate of inflation and salary growth; and countless businesses, our family, friends and neighbors have become ex-New Yorkers.

As citizens our main goal should be getting our legislators into rehab for their spending problem.  

There’s 3 viewpoints out there:  

“New York State residents receive some of the highest property tax bills in the country, and our residents are demanding property tax relief now,” said Senator John A. DeFrancisco (R-C-I, Syracuse), the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He went on to say that. “The property tax cap is necessary as are other policies that get to the root of the problem, which is overspending by the state of New York.”

So, viewpoint 1 finds that a tax cap is necessary if we seriously expect our elected officials to begin dealing with the state’s fiscal issues, brought on by declining revenues and ever-increasing spending. NY businesses have united under the Committee to Save New York in support of the property tax cap finding it a necessity to advance NY’s competitiveness.

Viewpoint 2: Our legislators love passing laws without giving locals the money to pay for them. Special Education for example is more than $24,000 per student (which is far more expensive here than in any other state) but we have 257 additional requirements on the books which cost our local districts more money. Needless to say it’s understandable that the NYS School Boards Association is against the tax cap because they know if they try to recoup the needed money in their public voted on school budgets, the budgets will fail. So, in the end they will have to either cut programs or cut teachers…. Or will they?

FACT: New York has driven away many private sector jobs through their anti business policies and favorable union policies. The unaffordable pensions are a main culprit. Many are touting how a tax cap will hurt our school districts. The truth is, it will force school districts to deal with their escalating problem of union salaries, medical costs, and pensions as well as the inflated salaries of their Superintendents. I have a problem viewing this as a negative.

EXAMPLE of Tax Cap in use: Massachusetts has worked well for some 30 years because the government was forced to live within their means using a tax cap. Massachusetts was known as Taxachusetts when its voters in 1980 approved a proposition to limit tax levies to 2.5 percent growth each year. Since the limit took effect, per capita residential and commercial real estate taxes have gone up 23 percent there when adjusted for inflation. In New York, they have gone up 53 percent, according to the Tax Policy Center, a joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution. Further The Massachusetts cap also appears to have sparked fire agencies and school districts to merge, and assorted local governments to consolidate or share services.

There’s also a viewpoint 3: A circuit breaker which isn’t a tax relief but a higher taxes for some people to provide a bigger refund for others. I’ll refer to this as redistribution of wealth. The Omnibus Consortium is a statewide group that is urging a circuit breaker. The members of this Consortium are advocates for property tax reform, fiscal responsibility and affordable housing. In short the circuit breaker is not property tax reform, it’s relief for certain individuals and tax increase for others. Governor Cuomo weighed in on the Senate Democrats’ proposal of a circuit breaker. The governor says he favors a straight tax cap that helps everyone, regardless of their income level.


In the end NYS’s rate of spending is unsustainable. Albany has acted in the manner of the proverbial ‘drunken sailor’ and to keep NY afloat and encourage businesses back here at this point in time, sadly a tax decrease isn’t realistically feasible. Albany must learn the tough love lessons of living within its means as you and I have.


I don’t pretend to know the correct viable solution, I only did some research. Regardless of which viewpoint you side with, the fact remains that if a cap is agreed to it must be in combination with true mandate reform.  A reduction of state mandates will be an across the board savings for all of us, including school districts.


Truth is not subjective and Facts do not lie– we cannot afford to do nothing- we must confront our problem. We’d all love a tax decrease but the odds are not in our favor. Therefore if we must go with the tax cap we must demand it accompanies meaningful reform, if that is, New York is serious about getting our state back on track.  

California lawmakers have proposed a law that would require schools to portray lesbians, homosexuals, transsexuals and those who have other alternative sexual lifestyles as positive role models to children in all public schools there.

Senator Mark Leno who is openly homosexual, wants to require all students in social studies class to admire lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender role models and as such he’s pushing a bill to recruit boys and girls to support the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda both personally and publicly. Not that this should come as a surprise that some that ‘represent’ wish to use our children as activists but to trample religious freedom, parental rights, free speech etc. is unforgiveable. I don’t live in CA, I live in NY and I can tell you my daughter is dealing with this same issue here in small town USA.

Our children are being indoctrinated on a very large scale. They’re being made to believe everything they’ve been taught by us is wrong; Made to believe that a heterosexual relationship is not the norm; made to believe that God is wrong; made to believe that their generation will be the one that gets it right.

I have to ask just one question, while we’re busy protecting the rights of the LGT crowd, just who is protecting our students who hold traditional and more conservative views, lifestyles and beliefs?

NO-ONE that’s who.

Let me let you in on a little secret. There’s a little list known as the 45 Steps to Communism found within Cleon Skousen’s book The Naked Communist. Are you aware of them? Let’s look at just a few of them.

Number 17: ‘Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of the teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Number 25: ‘Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.

Number 26: ‘Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as ‘normal, natural, and healthy.’

Number 28: Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of separation of church and state.”

Number 29: Credit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

Number 30: Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

THIS is Tyranny. If you’re not outraged than you’re not paying attention. The time has come to stand up for OUR children, OUR way of living and OUR beliefs.

It’s come to my attention from the left that I am a racist. For two years I’ve been fighting the label, but in the end, using their definition of the word, it’s true. Let me count the ways:

I believe Immigrants coming to this country should be required to learn English and our culture – if they refuse, show them the door;

I take issue with people who wish to be referred to as African Americans, Mexican Americans, Arab Americans etc.  – if you’re living in America you’re an American;

I take issue with Federal Funds aka my money paying for abortions. Morality aside, did you know that there are over 3400 abortions done EACH DAY in America and the majority of them are performed in disproportionately located black neighborhoods;

I take issue with giving every kid playing sports in school a trophy – it’s setting them up to believe no matter what they do or don’t do, they’ll win;

I am most favorable of border control and am totally against the latest name change of illegal immigrants to undocumented workers;

I disagree with President Obama on countless items – guess what – I disagreed with President Bush too;

I favor racial profiling. Why? Because granny isn’t on the record stating she wants me dead;

I’m against ObamaCare. Yes, because it’s unconstitutional and if that’s not enough of a reason how about that it will reduce the number of American jobs by a CBO estimate of 800,000;

I detest anything PC (Politically Correct). Let’s say what we mean and mean what we say. If it insults you or I, too bad –we’ll  get over it;

I believe in manners; I have unwavering morals; I believe in monogamous, heterosexual relationships;

I believe in the Bible and do not believe the left’s version of ‘there are exceptions within it’ – read it, you won’t find any;

I believe we have a culture crisis – one where people believe they are entitled to something without earning it. This must change for the only thing anyone is entitled to is the opportunity to acquire whatever ‘it’ is through their hard work not mine;

I don’t believe anything is too big to fail. If they had been operating honestly, responsibly and by the book, they would not have failed to begin with. I believe in the words personal responsibility;

I don’t care what you do behind your closed doors, that’s between you and God, but I don’t want to see it on TV or in the movies;

I believe in the US Constitution and do not believe it’s a living breathing document.  I certainly believe that we can’t afford to take the words of our founders lightly if we want to see our nation stand.

I believe America is a Republic, not a Democracy.

There’s no denying it any longer. By the left’s definition I’m a racist and I can live with that!

The President of the United States has an investment plan. In order to ‘Win the Future’ he wants nearly ALL Americans to have access to high speed wireless services, for in his mind this action will result in bringing prosperity to remote parts of America. Debatable, but in this authors mind it is a means to furthering the ObamaCare mandate of modernizing health care records and ensuring that everyone living in  America will hear/see his new Emergency Broadcasts.

Further, the President wants a high speed rail, for in his mind this will create jobs, albeit union jobs but ignore that fact for a moment.  This is the mother of all green initiatives for it will in theory reduce our dependence on oil imports. However, history tells us that Amtrak hasn’t done well so why would we assume a high speed rail will? John Mica, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman said “This is like giving Bernie Madoff another chance at handling your investment portfolio.”

High speed wireless is costly, to the tune of billions, so is high speed rail, to the tune of over $53 Billion. Bought groceries lately? Did you notice that your hard earned money isn’t going as far as it did say last year? How about gas? Like the price increases? Have you driven over a bridge or highway lately? How are those potholes working out for you and your car? Are you prepared to have your money spent on the President’s plan?

We need to start asking ourselves some serious questions. For instance, in the end what is the cost compared to the benefits? It doesn’t compute. The President contends that we can’t expect tomorrow’s economy to use yesterday’s infrastructure. Why not? If we want to invest in high speed anything perhaps we need to take the unions out of the picture. If we didn’t have to hire/pay union worker wages both pieces of Mr. Obama’s plan would be workable, but with them, it’s a costly pipe dream. Mr. Obama wants to focus on infrastructure  fine, but at this point in time it would behoove us to focus and invest on what we already have and use our money to fix it before taking on any further spending projects that we can’t afford – period.
